God, the Father, gave us His only Son
We did not recognise Him,
And treated Him like anyone
He came among us, as a little child
Born to Mary and Joseph,
An angelic couple, quiet and mild
He grew and played like every boy
A parents delight, every mother's joy,
Goodwill and happiness
Following everywhere He went
Preparing for the future
And the mission He was sent

Jesus Christ did not just come here,
To perform miracles and cures,
He taught us ...
With no fancy frills or deceptive lures
He showed us simplicity and love
When we keep Him in sight
By keeping our hearts true,
We see His heavenly light
We all like to receive a gift,
For they give to us
A sweet, heartfelt lift
But, many times,
We do not want to pay the price,
Of being loyal and true to others,
Who are not nice

Jesus Christ died on the cross,
After much pain and sorrow,
Feeling our loss
He rose triumphantly three days later,
Assuring us; we too can be redeemed,
With our maker
Easter is a time to remember God,
Not just in Church hymns and prayers,
Where we loudly applaud -
But to remember God in each person,
And each little face;
For not everyone is blessed
With peace, health and solace

Tough times and tough people,
There always will be
With God in your heart
You can smile silently
With Easter,
The stations of the cross,
And the resurrection;
Rebirth and truth show us
There is a God awaiting our attention

Take time during this blessed redeeming day
To smell the roses,
Enjoy nature,
And truly, truly watch simplicity
Have a joy filled Easter!
